Welcome to Taza

Gùjáká Nàníyaʔí

Taza is a groundbreaking partnership between Tsuut’ina Nation and Canderel to create one of the largest First Nation developments in North America, in Tsuut’ina Nation. Bordered by southwest Calgary and the beautiful Alberta foothills, Taza is a shared vision for a community of villages where modernity and tradition connect. More than a place, Taza is a living, evolving story that celebrates heritage, embraces innovation and looks forward to an exciting future.

Our name, pronounced Ta-zah, is a noun of Dené origin (the language of the Tsúūt’ínà). It means: something wondrous is coming.

Learn about Taza

Building a legacy of community, connection and culture

In the years to come, Taza will bring to life three distinct, interconnected villages on 1,200 acres of Nation land. It’s an extraordinary partnership to create a mixed-use development along Tsuut’ina Trail, opening opportunities for people, builders and businesses seeking a vibrant future. It’s also a shared vision to create generational prosperity and resiliency for the Tsuut’ina Nation.

Taza is shaped by the Dené principle of Data-hí ìsgùsʔóní k’asónà wúsà óghá dàdinaschòw (respect resources for future generations). From the way we build to how we interact with the land, we aim to be a leader in sustainable real estate development.

THREE community villages at Taza

Here in this leasehold community, nature and culture come together to create a vibrant urban environment set against the magnificent backdrop of Alberta’s foothills. With lifestyle, business, shopping, dining, green spaces, parks and entertainment, each village has a distinct character, and each is designed to be a destination.

What’s a community village? Imagine the vibrancy and convenience of urban living paired with the welcoming warmth of a village. It’s a place of connection: to amenities, to neighbours, to Tsuut’ina culture and to the land.
