Construction & Procurement

Taza is in progress
Something wondrous is coming—and it’s already begun. The Taza team is overseeing the construction management and land development of three community villages on 1,200 acres of Tsuut’ina Nation. We’re building communities, and we’re also aiming to build lasting positive change and a legacy to be proud of. Next time you drive down Tsuut’ina Trail, have a look at what we’re creating.
Our design and construction team
From the initial stages of master planning to the completion of construction, Taza’s in-house design and construction team ensures that every project meets its targets and aligns with our vision.
Design
The team develops our master plan vision and village development plan, and provides site study plans and concept design for a number of projects that are in the development, schematic and design phases. We collaborate with trusted project partners to meet the specific needs of each project, ensuring a cohesive and thoughtful design process.
Construction
The team manages land and vertical projects from the pre-construction/feasibility phases through design, construction and post-construction. We engage project partners, including consultants and contractors, through a competitive process involving tenders or requests for proposals (RFPs).

Construction updates
Construction can cause disruption, but we minimize impact through responsible management and communication. For updates on traffic routes and any construction-related impacts download our PDF with the most recent information. For all other enquiries call our construction hotline at 1-877-287-4731.

Procurement
Work with us
A Nation-centered process
Looking for opportunities? At Taza, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and fostering economic prosperity for the Tsuut’ina Nation. We take pride in working with businesses as well as Nation-owned companies that create meaningful opportunities for Nation members and meet our standards.
We’ve retained Nation-owned businesses to provide a wide range of services, including security, trucking, road construction, site cleaning, deep utilities, community art projects, and more.
Our procurement process ensures that every opportunity is evaluated fairly and with the benefit of the Tsuut’ina Nation in mind. We carefully define the scope of each project, receive bids, and assess them using a scoring matrix that includes factors such as team composition, experience, pricing, and the benefit to the Nation.

Tsuut’ina Benefit Driven Procurement Strategy

- Increased interest and participation from Tsuut’ina youth.
Tsuut’ina involvement in supply chain
- Procure services from Tsuut’ina members where available, appropriate and allowable (i.e. within our procurement threshold).
Community relationships
- Support for Tsuut’ina community services, organizations and programming.
Careers and inclusive hiring
- Consideration for paid mentorship, internship, apprenticeship and work experience in trades and other careers that supports long-term career growth for Tsuut’ina people.
