Brookfield Residential, Crystal Creek Homes and Homes by Avi will be the first three builder partners for this transformative community development.

Taza Park will be the first of Taza’s three villages to launch residential living opportunities, marking a milestone moment for the development. Brookfield Residential, Crystal Creek Homes, and Homes by Avi will be the first three residential builders in the community, offering homes just steps from a bustling Retail Main Street, providing convenient and pedestrian-friendly shopping, dining and entertainment. This collaboration is a huge leap forward in our mission to create a community built on quality, sustainability, and deep-rooted connections to the Tsuut’ina Nation.

A Location Like No Other

Nestled just minutes from downtown, Taza Park offers unbeatable access to Weaselhead Flats and North Glenmore Park, two of Calgary’s most cherished natural landmarks. In addition, with over 20 acres of green space within the community—complete with ponds, wetlands, parks and even four dedicated dog parks—living here means embracing a lifestyle that’s as close to nature as it is to the city.

James Robertson, President of Taza shares, “When you have a site that has access to over 500 acres of wetlands, city parks and the Glenmore Reservoir, when you have access to stunning rocky mountain views, when you’re located at the corner of Glenmore Trail and Tsuu’tina Trail/Stoney Trail, you have what every developer dreams of – location, location, location.”

The 470-acre village will ultimately be home to approximately 12,000 residents, creating a unique opportunity to be part of a community that seamlessly blends the vibrancy of urban life with the rich cultural heritage of the Tsuut’ina Nation.

Celebrating A Milestone Moment for Taza and Tsuut’ina Nation

The announcement of Taza Park’s first residential builders marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Taza. We gathered with the Taza team, builder partners, media and friends to celebrate this milestone with a special event. Knowledge Keeper Charlie Crowchild and Drummer David Meguinis shared a traditional blessing, followed by powwow dances by Faith Bigcharles performing “Woman’s Fancy” and Koda Starlight performing “Men’s Chicken.”

Our new builder partners each received two gifts as a symbol of our deep respect and strong relationship with them. The first was a shadow box collaboration created by Tsuut’ina Elder Bruce Starlight, containing an eagle feather and Tsuut’ina ribbon, and a beaded Taza medallion (created by Nellie Meguinis).

The eagle feather is a sacred symbol within the Tsuut’ina Nation, representing protection and blessings as we move forward together. The second gift was a commissioned artwork by local Tsuut’ina artist Stephanie Onespot. Each piece was crafted to reflect the unique essence of each builder project’s name. In the future, these art inspirations will be reflected on the street pole banners near each builder’s project.

To conclude the event, Bryce Starlight, VP of Development at Taza shared his inspiring vision for the community, “I see Tsuut’ina, I see Indigenous people, and I see Canadians all converging in the same area. I see us sharing these lands and sharing this vision of a prosperous partnership into the future. I see this day and this event, these homes that we’re building, these partnerships that we’re building with Homes by Avi, with Crystal Creek, and with Brookfield Residential, not just as homes. This is the bridging of a gap. This is a turning point where visions transform into reality, where partnerships take root, and where we begin shaping a community that will stand for generations to come while collectively continuing to shorten the bridge between our two societies to become true partners in Canada.”
