Live entertainment, spectacular green spaces, and convenient day trips – Taza has everything you need for a fun and relaxing season!

Summer in Calgary is short and sweet, making it difficult to decide on the best ways to spend your days. The good news? Taza is designed for easy movement, outdoor escapes and community connection. Take a stroll through The Shops at Buffalo Run and explore nearby green spaces like Weaselhead Flats and the Glenmore Reservoir while the sun is high and the days are long.  Located in Tsuut’ina Nation just outside Calgary’s southwest edge, Taza offers everything you need to relax, have fun and make the most of your summertime!

Whether you’re a visitor or planning to call the community home, here are six ways to enjoy summer at Taza:

Fuel up at The Shops at Buffalo Run before heading out on your mountain adventure.
1. Get Road Trip Ready for the Rocky Mountains

Taza is the perfect pre-adventure pit stop for your weekend escape. As you’re headed out of town, fuel up at Tsuut’ina Gas in Taza Park or stop in at The Shops at Buffalo Run and stock up on your favourite road trip snacks. If you’re getting an early start on the day, grab a coffee from Tim Hortons, or pack a ready-to-go picnic from quick dining spots like Subway, BarBurrito, or Booster Juice.

The Rocky Mountains are easily accessible from Taza with connections to Tsuut’ina Trail and Highway 22x, getting you to your destination as quickly as possible. After your trip, treat your vehicle to a wash at Great White Car Wash before heading home. With everything conveniently located in one central place, Taza makes getting in and out of the city easy and convenient.

2. Spend a Day at Glenmore Reservoir

Glenmore Reservoir is just minutes from Taza and offers the perfect setting for a sunny afternoon. Rent a canoe from the Calgary Canoe Club for $20 an hour or $40 for the day and enjoy peaceful paddling with beautiful views. If you prefer to be on land, try biking the full loop of the reservoir. Start at the North Glenmore Park, where you’ll have access to ride the full 15.4 km trail with stunning sights of the reservoir, Heritage Park, natural scenery and more. There are plenty of resting spots to unwind with a barbecue or fire in one of the designated picnic areas.

Enjoy sunset at Glenmore Reservoir after a day on the water.

Finish off your day in the sun with a cold, sweet treat at Buffalo Run. Dairy Queen’s Summertime Blizzard treat menu features flavours like S’mores and Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake. Or, cool down with a refreshing bubble tea from Happy Cup, with options like the Peach Slush or Minty Watermelon Refresher Cup.
